Twin Peaks Challenge
The Eastern Turkey region encompasses a spectacular area of volcanic mountains which include the mountains around Lake Van- Artos, Nemrut Crater, Suphan-Tendürek Mountain and the sister peaks of Ararat and Little Ararat. The Twin Peaks Challenge offers you an acclimatisation day on Mt Artos just south of the City of Van before the start of your challenge with an ascent of Mt Suphan followed by Ararat. This is available as a “Full Trek” which includes a night in Istanbul and domestic flights or as a “Basic Package” which meets in Van and commences on Suphan.
Twin Peaks: Suphan & Ararat
- Day 1 – Arrive Van. Overnight Van
- Day 2 – Depart for Suphan base camp at Harmantepe
- Day 3 – Early morning ascent to the summit of Mt. Suphan. Descend and afternoon departure for Dogubeyazit
- Day 4 – Day at leisure in Dogubeyazit with options to visit Ishak Pasha Palace, Meteor Crater or Noah’s Ark Museum.
- Day 5 – Morning departure for Trek start point and trek to Camp 1
- Day 6 – Acclimatisation day
- Day 7 – Trek to Camp 2
- Day 8 – Early morning ascent to summit of Mount Ararat and return to Camp 2
- Day 9 – Return to start point for collection. Lunch and drive to Van.
Overnight Van - Day 10 – Depart Van for onward journey
Twin Peaks: Suphan & Ararat (Extended Package)
- Day 1 – Arrive Istanbul. Overnight Istanbul
- Day 2 – Fly to Van. Overnight Van
- Day 3 – Climb Mt. Artos
- Day 4 – Depart for Suphan base camp as Harmentepe
- Day 5 – Early morning ascent to the summit of Mt. Suphan. Descend and Afternoon departure for Dogubeyazit
- Day 6 – Acclimatisation day
- Day 7 – Day at leisure in Dogubeyazit with options to visit Ishak Pasha Palace, Meteor Crater or Noah’s Ark Museum.
- Day 8 – Morning departure for Trek start point and trek to Camp 1
- Day 9 – Trek to Camp 2
- Day 10 – Early morning ascent to summit of Ararat (5137 m) and return to Camp 2
- Day 11 – Return to start point for collection. Lunch and drive to Van. Overnight Van
